24/7 emergency electrician in Sydney
Power loss, burning smells, sparking switchboards and storm damage. We answer the phone every hour of every day.
Burning smell, sparking switchboard or no power?
Do not touch it. Call us — 24 hours, every day.
24/7 emergency done once, done properly.
Some electrical faults can wait until Tuesday. A burning smell, a sparking switchboard or exposed wiring cannot. The difference matters, and if you are not sure which one you have, the safe assumption is the second.
We take emergency calls around the clock and give you a realistic arrival window rather than an optimistic one. On the phone we will also tell you what to isolate before we get there, which sometimes ends the emergency on its own.

Call immediately if
- You can smell burning plastic and cannot find the source
- The switchboard is sparking, buzzing or hot to touch
- Wires are exposed or hanging within reach
- Water is getting into a switchboard, meter box or power point
- A safety switch trips the moment it is reset
- A power line is down — stay well clear and call 000 first
What to do before we arrive
If there is fire, smoke or a fallen power line, call 000 first. Stay at least eight metres from any fallen conductor and keep others and animals away — the ground around it can be live.
Otherwise, if it is safe to reach the switchboard, turn off the main switch. Do not touch anything that is arcing, hot or wet, do not attempt to reset a breaker repeatedly, and do not run extension leads to work around a dead circuit.
- Call 000 for fire, smoke or fallen power lines
- Turn off the main switch if you can reach it safely
- Unplug appliances on the affected circuit if it is safe to do so
- Keep people and pets away from the area
- Call us and describe what you can see and smell

What counts as an emergency?
Anything involving burning smells, sparking, exposed conductors, water in electrical equipment, or a total loss of power you cannot restore at the board.
Do you actually answer at 2am?
Yes. Emergency calls are taken around the clock.
Is the whole street out or just me?
Check whether your neighbours have power. If the street is out it is a network outage, and we will tell you that rather than charging you to attend.
Can you fix it the same visit?
Usually. Where a part or daylight is needed, we make the situation safe and return to complete it.
What if a power line is down?
Stay at least eight metres away, keep everyone clear, and call 000. Never touch a fallen line or anything in contact with it.
Often booked at the same time.
