A switchboard is the one part of your electrical system that decides what happens when something goes wrong. A rewireable ceramic fuse cannot tell the difference between a kettle and a fault, and it will not protect a person from a shock. Circuit breakers and residual current devices will.
We upgrade boards in houses, units, strata common property and small commercial sites across Sydney. Where the upgrade needs the network involved — a bigger main switch, a new consumer mains run or a metering change — we handle that ourselves as an accredited Level 2 ASP rather than sub-contracting it out.

What the upgrade actually involves
Most domestic boards are done in a day. Power is off for a good part of it, so we agree a date and a start time, and we tell you beforehand what that means for your fridge, your home office and anyone working from home.
Once the new board is in, every circuit is tested and recorded. You get a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work, which is the document your insurer and any future buyer will ask for.

How long will the power be off?
For a straightforward domestic board, most of the working day. We give you a window before we start so you can plan around it.
Do I have to upgrade the whole board?
Not always. If the enclosure is sound and there is space, adding RCDs to existing circuits may be enough. We tell you which case you are in before quoting.
Will you need to involve the network?
Only if the main switch rating, the consumer mains or the metering has to change. We are accredited to do that work ourselves, so it does not add a second contractor.
What if there is asbestos behind the board?
It is common in older Sydney homes. It has to be handled and disposed of correctly, and we will tell you at quoting stage if that applies to yours.
Do I get a compliance certificate?
Yes. A Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work is issued on every job we complete.
