A solar system is a roof job and an electrical job in equal measure, and the electrical half is where installs commonly come unstuck — a switchboard with no room for the solar breaker, consumer mains too small for the inverter, or metering that has to change before export can be switched on.

Worth knowing before you sign anything

- System size should follow your usage, not the roof area alone
- Shading from one tree or chimney can cost more than it looks
- An old switchboard may need upgrading first — it should be in the price

How a solar job runs
We look at twelve months of your bills before recommending a size. A system built around what you actually use during daylight hours will always beat a larger one exporting cheaply into the grid.
Install is typically one to two days on a standard home. The system is commissioned, tested and explained before we leave — including how to read it and what a normal day should look like.

What size system should I get?
It follows your daytime usage, roof space and budget. We work from your bills rather than a rule of thumb.
Do you handle the rebate paperwork?
Federal small-scale certificates are claimed through an accredited install. Confirm current eligibility with us when you get a quote, as the scheme changes over time.
Will my switchboard need upgrading?
Sometimes. Older boards often lack space or RCD protection. We check at quoting stage so it is not a surprise later.
Can I add a battery later?
Yes, if the system is designed for it. Tell us at quoting stage and we will pick an inverter that leaves that door open.
How long until it is exporting?
Panels go on in a day or two. Export starts once the network and your retailer complete their side, which is usually the longer part.
