Charging from a standard power point works, slowly, and it was never designed to run at near capacity for eight hours at a stretch. A dedicated charger on its own circuit is faster and, more to the point, safer.
The install itself is straightforward. What varies is everything behind it: whether the switchboard has room, whether the consumer mains can carry another substantial load, and whether the house needs load management to avoid tripping the main switch when the car and the oven run together.

Units, townhouses and strata
Charging in a strata building is a different problem to charging in a house: the supply is shared, the parking space may not be near your meter, and the owners corporation has to approve the work.
We can assess what the building's supply will support and what metering arrangement makes sense, which is generally what the committee needs before it will approve anything.

How fast will it charge?
A single phase 7kW charger adds roughly 40km of range an hour for most cars; three phase is faster again if your supply and car support it.
Can my house handle a charger?
Most can, some need load management, and a few need a mains upgrade. We assess it before quoting.
Do I need three phase?
Only if you want faster charging than 7kW and your vehicle can accept it. For overnight home charging, single phase is usually plenty.
Can you install in an apartment car space?
Often yes, but it needs owners corporation approval and a metering arrangement that bills the right person.
Does it need a special safety switch?
Yes. Chargers have specific RCD requirements, and using the wrong type is a common fault in cheap installs.
